The Year of 9: 9 in Sound & Music [#8]

Through word and sound we possess the ability to create our own reality.

Whether it be a BIG BANG or a heavenly command:

 "Let there Be Light!"

the Earth as we know it was sounded into being.

Ptah conceives the world by the thought of his heart and gives life through the magic of his Word.

This just goes to show how powerful word and sound are in the creation of the world in which we now reside.

For the words we say to ourselves and others and the sounds we produce and consume all affect the vibrational frequency of our present physical spaces.

And they can either be positive or negative.

Consider the sounds/ words/ music which evoke emotional responses within you.
How do they alter your reality and your relation to the persons around you?

Just one wrong word in the morning can ruin your entire day. Trust mi. I know.
Conversely, chanting a psalm, uttering a prayer of gratitude or playing upful music can open your life up to a wondrous experience.

It is also fitting that this, the 8th and penultimate blog post in the #Yearof9BlogSeries, is about sound and music considering 8 is the number most associated with these vibrations. Octaves and such.

However if you listen closely enough you will also find the number 9.

How? Let me show you.

9 & DUB

The iconic rhythms of drum and bass define a period of time in Jamaica's musical history where the vibration of sound and dubbing of words are able to evoke a deep metaphysical reaction within and without. 

Have you ever been in front of a speaker box when the bass line drop een? 

Is almost like all the cells in yuh body separate, recalibrate and merge back into one. 

SURREAL.

It is therefore no wonder that immediately upon examining the bass clef there is evidence, not only of the shape of the number 9, but of Fibonacci's Spiral at work once again.

432 Hz - the Natural Frequency of the Universe

432Hz, a frequency based in nature, purports to bring natural harmony and balance of the 3rd dimension and connect you with a higher consciousness. The pure and clean energy of 432Hz is said to remove mental blocks opening a way to a more fulfilling life and generating healthy effects among listeners.

4 + 3 + 2 = 9

As human beings, we measure sound frequencies in vibration cycles per second which further reveals the number 9 within the harmonic patterns found in nature. 

Presently, most songs and instruments are tuned to 440Hz, but just imagine how harmonious this world would be if we reverted to 432Hz?

“If one should desire to know whether a kingdom is well governed, if its morals are good or bad, the quality of its music will furnish the answer.”

Perhaps over time, through the malicious intent of others, we have all been re-programmed into altering states of hostility and complacency; energetically off kilter. The fact or fiction of subliminal messages vibrating through radio, television and micro-waves into our brains can be debated ad infinitum. 

What remains true, however, is that we are quickly approaching a critical point in the evolution of consciousness on this planet. As more and more persons become aware of the energetic imbalances present in these times so too will more persons attune to the Universal Life Force Energy which remains the Source of ALL THAT IS.
A true state of complete peace, comfort and Oneness. 

So as we prepare to welcome Jah9's new album on 9.9.9, I implore you all to take heed of the many warning signs in these times. 

Listen carefully, with an open heart and an open mind.

Chant only words of peace, love and gratitude, vibrate positive energy at all times and make a joyful noise unto the Most High Creator of the Universe.

Then watch the world become a better place.

The Year of 9: 9 and Words [#7]

Last week's blog post was, admittedly, a bit heavy. 

But necessary. 

For it is important to delve into the deepest and most dense parts of ourselves to truly be still.
Only then can we fully overstand the profound significance of numbers in the construction of our Universe. 

Now that a firm foundation has been established wherein we can clearly identify the many ways in which the number 9 takes shape within our lives on a daily basis, this post will explore the significance of nine as it pertains to words, communication and the Word.

We begin, as always, by Grounding.

Here are a few Idioms and Proverbs using the number 9:

“I’m floating on cloud nine”

- feeling euphoric or happy.
Feeling Irie.

The phrase came into use in the 1950s when used by the US Weather Bureau to describe the highest cloud, the cumulo-nimbus.

“Nine times out of ten”

- an expression describing a likely probability.

“Going the whole nine yards”

- thought to originate from tailors using nine yards of material to make top quality suits.

&

“Dressed to the nines”

 - outfitted to the highest degree. 

WAY UP!

In other words, 

and languages, the number 9 corresponds to notions of goodness, rightness and fullness.

 In the Hebrew alefbet, 

the ninth letter is tet - ט, which has the numerical value of nine. 

The least common letter in the Torah is a Tet.The first tet - ט that appears in the Torah is in the word tov of Genesis 1:4, normally translated as good, but a better meaning is beneficial.

 In the Bible,

 the number 9 symbolizes divine completeness or conveys the meaning of finality.

In the New Testament, 

namely Galatians 5:22, there are 9 fruits of the Spirit, 

which are Faithfulness, Gentleness, Goodness, Joy, Kindness, Long-suffering (Patience), Love, Peace and Self-control.

Twice in the Book of Acts the "ninth hour" (3 PM) is referred to as the hour of prayer.

Similarly Christ died upon the cross at the 9th hour of the day to make the way of salvation open to everyone.

The ultimate sacrifice for Darkness:
Becoming LIGHT. 

Embodied in the symbolical relevance of  the number 9 we discover yet another tier in our quest to unfold our True Selves:

The Year of 9: Thoth's 9th Emerald Tablet [#6]

From the beginning of time, the moment the first Word was uttered and the first atom split we have been plotting our return to Source throughout the Universe. A constant search for God. Researching origin. Each and every motion -- a pursuit of clarity, of purpose, of a deeper understanding of Self.

The journey back to our True Self: Oneness.

Through word-sound then eventually written on stones, tablets, leaves, papyrus, paper, virtually, every significant discovery along our journey as mankind has been documented for future generations.

From the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible, to the Torah, the Qur'an, the Vedas, the Tao Te Ching, the Baghavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Buddhist Sutras and the Book of Coming forth by Day to the Emerald Tablets:

Books of LIGHT.

The Tabula Smaragdina (also known as the Emerald Tablet) is believed to be the first known treaties on the indwelling light that has ever been found with all the other spiritual books being offshoots.

Originally written by THOTH, the Atlantean, Mystery Master, Record Keeper and Magician who, is also called Hermes Trismegistus, the Tabula Smaragdina was a primary text for the alchemists of ancient Khemet.

If you are seeking answers to questions you have yet to find the words to articulate then I suggest you read all 13 tablets.

For now, however,  I would like to highlight an excerpt from the 9th Tablet:


Tablet IX: The Key of Freedom of Space

Nine are the interlocked dimensions,
and Nine are the cycles of space.
Nine are the diffusions of consciousness,
and Nine are the worlds within worlds.
Aye, Nine are the Lords of the cycles
that come from above and below.

The nine also corresponds to the seven chakras with the sixth consisting of three organs i.e.,the three components that make up the so-called ‘third eye’ being the pineal, the pituitary and the thalamus.

Diffusions of Consciousness, Worlds within worlds, Lords of the cycles

In order to eventually transcend the NINE you must relinquish your attachment to flesh, and follow the light (within), via meditation.

Quelling the chaos within you, your emotional nature, is the only way to have order within your mind.

Until you cast off the physical, you will remain within the structure of the NINE.

You see, the NINE are also the delusions of consciousness, because this is man's number, and man's consciousness when separated from the true light. 

Additionally, NINE Aeons are living off of the Physical body with it's NINE openings and NINE lunar cycles of gestation.

Through the number 9 comes Creation, the revelation of mysteries, from the Big Bang, through the land of Khemet, enlightened consciousness continues its never-ending journey to eventually return to the Source within.

The Year of 9: 9 in Yoga [#5]

"Through the divining power of intuition everything can be known."

Fling a stone nowadays and you can find someone practicing yoga.

 The Western world, it seems, has finally caught up with the ancient practice of stilling the mind and going within to seek the answers to all things.

 Colonization in Reverse.

Yoga has, for the most part, awakened the act of pursuing enlightenment in a 'New World' which still seems to be shrouded in perpetual darkness. From the Asanas (the more popular yoga poses) to Pranayama (breathing exercises) through Dhyana (contemplative meditation) mankind has recently drawn upon these ancient traditions to assist us in achieving the oft sought after state of expanded consciousness and ultimately the attainment of the Higher Self: 

SAMADHI

Ancient mathematicians of the Vedic era, from which yoga emerges, considered the sacred number 108 to be a representation of the wholeness of existence. 

[1+0+8=9]

The number 108 connects the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth, where the diameter of the Sun multiplied by 108 equals the distance between the Sun and the Earth, and the diameter of the Moon multiplied by 108 equals the distance between the Earth and the Moon. The diameter of the Sun is also 108 times the diameter of the Earth. 

Pranayama 

It has been stated that every day we breathe 21,600 times out of which 10,800 breaths are solar energy and 10, 800 are lunar energy. 

108 x 100 = 10,800.

According to yogic tradition, there are 108 pithas, or sacred sites, throughout India. 

Additionally, there are also 108 Upanishads and 108 marma points, or sacred places of the body.

The beads in a mala also equal to, you guessed it, 108. 

So on this August mawnin' in the Year of 9, feel free to jump on your yoga mat (if you have one), take 9 deep breaths, emancipate your mind and do 9 sun salutations in acknowledgement of the journey you are presently on, how far you have come and how far you have left to go. 

The sages, seers and yogis over the course of time through diligent practice were able to still their minds, observe Creation and tap into the knowledge of the Universe.
