What is Evolution?

“We began as a mineral.
We emerged into plant life, and into the animal state, and then into being human, and always we have forgotten our former states, except in early spring when we slightly recall being green again.
That’s how a young person turns towards a teacher.
That’s how a baby leans toward the breast, without knowing the secret of its desire, yet turning instinctively.
Humankind is being led along an evolving course, through the migration of intelligences, and though we seem to be sleeping, there is an inner wakefulness that directs the dream, and that will eventually startle us back to the truth of who we are.”

First Blog

Yay! My first blog of several.. I hope... my attention span is almost shot to sh*t at this young stage of my life...but i'm working on it...you know...one day at a time...

So I guess introductions are in order... My name is Nadya with a Y....i'm an aspiring writer/ novelist but full-time procrastinator/ idler extraordinaire... I speak a lot and at times I vere off on misunderstood tangents...but it's all good...the side-effects of a creative mind I say...

What's my main aim with writing this blog...well mostly because I have attention issues that i'm working on...and secondly because I hope it will keep me out of trouble... a channel if you will for my random quirks and thoughts...also as a semi-journal....to document my daily activities so that come next week I won't be oblivious to the previous weeks actions (joking..it's not so bad..really...)

Ok time for a public service announcement (free if I may add) Weeds will be coming on tonight...so mark ure calendars everyone....and before you go thinking this was a weird and unusual insert into my introduction it's just a brilliant segue into the title of this my first blog...

Little Boxes...

Malvina Reynolds - Little Boxes (theme song of Weeds)

Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses all went to the university
Where they were put in boxes and they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and there's lawyers, and business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course and drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children and the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp and then to the university
Where they are put in boxes and they come out all the same.

And the boys go into business and marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

Interesting song if I may say so myself... I just love it....I don't know why, maybe it's because it reminds me so much of Forrest Gump's profound statement about life ["My Momma told me: Life is like a box of chocolates..you never know what you gunna get"]

Or maybe it simply signifies the monotony that is life... what an oxymoron....

Alas...this is me in a nutshell [help i'm in a nutshell how did i get into this nutshell, what kind of shell has a nut like this?] LOL...that came from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery btw...
I know, I know i'm just a reservoir of useless information.

Anyhoo that's it for now...

P.S. I'm not crazy. But being diplomatic i'll ask...what do you think?

Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
